GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for payroll administration and all aspects of new hire onboarding. Incumbent also provides administrative support to the Director of Human Resources and Human Resources Manager to assure smooth operation of the department. Performs a variety of administrative and clerical duties. The HR Generalist will work alongside other Generalist to ensure accurate and well-organized payroll processes and onboarding processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Gathers and records data for bi-weekly payroll for Bank and Card Assets; submits data to outside payroll vendor for calculation and preparation of payroll reports. Assists managers and employees with Time Management questions or issues. Runs reports and verifies time for accuracy.
2. Verifies and reconciles payroll register for accuracy and prepares payroll entries to general ledger; allocates overhead salaries for branch accounting.
3. Post jobs and review applications in Recruiting Gateway; remit pre-employment testing requests; provide managers with applicant list for interviewing; administer background screenings, disposition applicants and close out jobs in a timely manner.
4. Provide new hire orientation including, but not limited to set up in HRIS, new hire reporting, employment eligibility, and social security verification.
5. Responsible for administration of transfers and promotions of employees.
6. Provide statistical information to Executive Committee on hiring, terminations, and applications annually.
7. Develop relationships with agencies that assist minorities, veterans, and disabled find employment. Attend job fairs and other recruitment opportunities. Research and engage services for job advertising that provide the most exposure at the lowest cost.
8. Attends seminars and learning sessions to further knowledge of HR Compliance.
9. Creates and maintains confidential employee personnel files and database as required. Responsible for approving employee initiated changes in the HRIS system such as address changes, direct deposit changes, tax withholding changes, etc.
10. Oversees and manages bank shirt ordering process. Responsible for processing employee payroll deductions and verifying billing statements from vendor.
11. Creates and updates employee service awards and schedules. Orders service awards in time for employee anniversaries.
12. Order and maintain department supplies. Greets visitors, answers telephone, opens incoming mail, files, and performs a variety of other administrative duties.
13. Responsible for distributing, tracking and maintaining 90 day employee reviews from department supervisors.
14. Assists with special projects and special reporting as required.
15. Assist with research and engagement of services for job advertising that provides the most exposure at the lowest cost.
16. Responsible for distributing, tracking and maintaining 90 Day Employee Reviews from department supervisors.
17. Responsible for handling signing up employees for National Mortgage Licensing registry. This includes adding, terminating, and renewing employees. Maintain procedures and update as needed. Provide responses to audit as requested.
18. Update the portal as needed. Review items for acknowledgment and post to the payroll system as requested.
19. Prepared bi-weekly and monthly reports as required. Prepare quarterly reports for Multiple Work Sites.
20. Perform verifications of employment.
21. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
While performing the functions of this job, the employee is continuously required to talk or hear; regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms; occasionally required to walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; and color vision.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Understands and adheres to all compliance issues, attends training as required and related to this position, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, Privacy Act, US Patriot Act and Security. Must be available to work overtime based on workload.
