Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an Associate or Experienced Supplier Quality Engineer (Level 2 or 3) in Everett, Washington to join our Core Technical team within Supplier Quality which works on developing and implementing preventive measures/processes to identify and mitigate risk in the supply base. The selected candidates will work within a diverse team and in a dynamic environment to shape the long-term strategy for escape prevention.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about problem solving, engaging with the production system, and doing complex data analysis. Quality Engineers supports existing production through process improvement techniques involving defect reduction, verification system design and improvements, and ensures compliance to requirements. Our quality engineers get involved in complex engineering and production challenges and have a critical role in the continuous improvement of our quality management system, products, and production system.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.
  • Provides Quality interpretation of requirements.
  • Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities.
  • Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs. Performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
  • Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances.
  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances.
  • Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
  • Works under general direction.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Must have bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering, or STEM field from ABET accredited institution.
  • 1+ years of experience working in a quality job role.
  • 1+ years of experience working with Quality Standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 14000.
  • 1+ years of experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) processes and implementing corrective actions.
  • 1+ years of experience with ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, Boeing specifications (BAC), change, design).
  • 1+ years of experience collecting, organizing, and analyzing data; summarizing findings; developing conclusions.
  • Able to travel 10% of the time domestically or internationally.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with risk assessment methodologies and experience in supplier audits (e.g., FMEA, system, product, and process audit assessment).
  • Experience, and at least considered an intermediate user, with office tools such Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience with utilizing analytic skills: collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.
  • Experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning and Production Part Approval Process.
  • Experience in various quality tools and processes such as inspection plans, control plans, and measurement system analysis (MSA).
  • Experience with Statistical Product Acceptance and review of supplier statistical plans.
