Senior Software Engineer/Developer

Job Description:

Position Description: 

Writes SQL queries and debugs stored procedures within an Oracle environment. Works with data and databases, like Aurora Postgres and Oracle RDS. Deploys DevOps and Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines. Develops microservices, Lambda, and database applications using Java. Develops and migrates applications into cloud-based platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. Maintains Data with Informatica and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL). Implements process improvements within system development lifecycles by employing Agile methodologies such as Kanban and SCRUM. Provides business solutions by developing complex software applications.  

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.  

• Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.  

• Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.  

• Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation. 

• Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing. 

• Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.  

• Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems. 

• Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope. 

• Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project. 

• Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives. 

• Collaborates with Data Governance team to achieve full compliance and data quality. 

• Identifies performance bottlenecks and provides solution improvements for Web applications. 

Education and Experience: 

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Information Technology and Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) implementing and supporting applications and mid-tier services using AWS services, Python, Jenkins, Snowflake, and SQL.  

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Information Technology and Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) implementing and supporting applications and mid-tier services using AWS services, Python, Jenkins, Snowflake, and SQL. 

Skills and Knowledge: 

Candidate must also possess: 

• Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) developing data integration solutions to extract data for real-time and batch processing from heterogeneous systems (Postgres, Oracle, and AWS s3) using Python, Spark, and AWS services (AWS lambda, EMR, EC2, SNS, and SQS); and transforming and loading data to AWS S3 and Snowflake database using AWS Kafka, CloudWatch, and Splunk.   

• DE designing, planning, and performing data profiling on data sets to create data models and implement Data Definition Languages (DDLs) and views using SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, and Aurora Postgres; creating dimensional modeling objects using
