Our summer intern program, which will run from May 27th – Aug 8th, allows students to gain real world work experience in a high energy, collaborative work culture.

Our Research and Translational Medicine Dept.  is seeking a summer intern who will work closely with the Vendor and Clinical Operations Manager to plan and coordinate operational activities required for the collection, delivery, storage and testing of clinical biomarker and diagnostic samples from our clinical trials. The intern will learn how to create communication and collaborations between the internal clinical teams, external CROs, clinical sites and the Translational Medicine team.

  • Learn and assist in the procedures for following and updating sample tracking and registration in the appropriate database
  • Learn and assist in the managing of timelines for sample testing and data transfer with both internal teams and external vendors.
  • Learn and assist in the managing of sample transfer/discrepancy resolution with Central Lab and other sample analysis/storage CROs.
  • May provide sample and assay status updates to internal study team
  • Attend bi-weekly Translational Medicine team meeting (a forum to overview all the TM activities across research and clinical development Karyopharm programs)

Candidate Profile & Requirements:

  • Actively enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program with a focus in life sciences
  • Experience with basic data transformations and statistical testing (e.g. SPSS, Prism, excel, R).
  • Working understanding of basic molecular biology / lab techniques.
  • Microsoft office proficiency.
  • Experience giving presentations of analysis results to non-technical audiences.
  • Appropriate verbal and written communication skills to function within a professional work environment.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and emotional intelligence.
  • Effective time management and adaptable to evolving company experimental priorities.
  • You have a strong interest in life sciences and are passionate about giving patients with cancer a chance to enjoy more of life’s precious moments.
