Indirect Services Director – Carmel, IN
Working within Allegion’s Global Supply Management (GSM) team, you will be responsible for leading the strategic sourcing activities for over $400M in indirect spend and enterprise services aimed at delivering value added benefit and experience to our internal business partners. This role is the global leader for indirect sourcing located at our Americas Regional HQ in Carmel, IN with a matrixed team of direct and indirect reporting relationships. As a member of the GSM leadership team, you will participate in the developing and providing strategic direction of the organization and be expected to be a thought leader for value creation with both internal and external business partners.
What You Will Do:
- Lead the strategic sourcing strategy to unlock value within the global indirect spend of over $400M across the Americas and specific Global categories (Travel, IT support). Facilitate team of commodity managers and specialists to develop category playbook, define action plans and drive cadence of execution to deliver 4% productivity on impactable spend. Categories include information technology, HR services including contingent labor, professional services, travel, tooling, capital equipment, MRO, etc. Define and drive productivity aimed at maximizing value and reducing complexity of the indirect supply base.
- Develop strategic relationships with key supplier partners aimed at serving multiple locations, providing multi-year productivity project pipelines and aligning supplier partner investments & resources to support the Allegion business strategy.
- Engage with internal business partners to understand their business objectives and challenges, build mutual understanding of current spend and key supplier relationships; and develop a Service Level Agreement (SLA) defining priorities, expectations and action plans to maximize the value of each dollar spent by the business partner.
- Develop a team of talented sourcing and supply management professionals capable of delivering the business objectives in an efficient and effective way while increasing the satisfaction of internal & external business partners. Areas of focus include employee engagement, technical skills (negotiation, category strategies, contract management, etc.) and leadership skills (change management, project/program management, communication, etc.). Build a pipeline of talent for key positions including successors for this role.
- Lead the Corporate Travel Manager, assuring delivery of contemporary travel options, policies, and cost effectiveness.
- Maintain an Understand the services needed by the business to source indirect needs in an efficient & effective way. Lead the ‘procure to pay’ process for the Americas to execute purchase transactions in a timely manner while ensuring compliance to internal controls and policies. Provide policies and guidelines for indirect purchasing processes globally where managed within local entities.
- Drive continuous improvement activities aimed at improving customer satisfaction, reducing cycle times, standardizing business processes, and increasing the ROI of the indirect team.
- Actively monitor and mitigate supplier risk including financial, capacity, quality and compliance.
What You Need to Succeed:
- BS/BA required. Master’s degree in business administration, finance, supply chain or related field preferred.
- 10+ years of increasing responsibility in the areas of Procurement, Sourcing, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Finance or related field, including leadership of projects and/or teams in a matrix environment
- Demonstrated competence in developing supplier relationships, negotiating skills, contract management and defining sourcing strategies within indirect commodities preferred.
- Strong business acumen and analytical thinking, as well as project/program management and process development skills.
- Excellent communication skills with proven ability to effectively engage and influence at all levels of a global organization
