About the role
ABOUT THE LUCAS MUSEUM OF NARRATIVE ARTOpening in September 2026, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is dedicated to illustrated storytelling. Founded by George Lucas and Mellody Hobson, the museum’s collection features works by artists including Norman Rockwell, Kadir Nelson, Jessie Willcox Smith, N. C. Wyeth, Beatrix Potter, Judith F. Baca, Frida Kahlo, and Maxfield Parrish; as well as comic art legends such as Winsor McCay, Jack Kirby, Frank Frazetta, Alison Bechdel, Chris Ware, and R. Crumb; and photographers Gordon Parks, Henri Cartier-Bresson, and Dorothea Lange. The Museum also houses the Lucas Archives, containing models, props, concept art, and costumes from Lucas’s filmmaking career. Designed by Ma Yansong of MAD with a landscape by Mia Lehrer of Studio-MLA, the Museum is in Exposition Park, Los Angeles, on an 11-acre campus that includes new green space and a 300,000-square-foot building with galleries, two theaters, a library, restaurant, café, retail store, and community spaces.
POSITION SUMMARY The Coordinator, Communications and Marketing will play an integral role in supporting all functions aligned with the Communications and Marketing division’s focus on building awareness of and excitement for the Lucas Museum to a wide array of audiences in the lead up to and after the museum’s opening.
Reporting to the Manager of Marketing, the Coordinator will play a key role in knitting together the various activities of the division. They will assist with a wide range of projects, engage with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, and coordinate a variety of projects to engage internal and external audiences with the museum. They will be an excellent communicator and able to work easily with a wide range of working and personality styles. As a thought partner to the team, the Coordinator will contribute to the development of communications and marketing initiatives that will build a rhythm of external activities from now through the opening to bring the Lucas Museum to life for the public.
The ideal candidate will have proven work experience as a coordinator or similar role within a marketing and communications team, knowledge of traditional and digital communications and marketing tools, and familiarity with CRM systems, email communications tools, project management tools, digital asset management, and website content management systems. Experience in creating social media content and using the Adobe Creative Suite are desired. The Coordinator will maintain deep awareness of activities across the division, helping to facilitate the execution of programmatic goals and operations that bear out the museum’s mission, vision, and values.

RESPONSIBILITIES Work with the Communications and Marketing team to develop and implement strategies for promoting the museum’s exhibitions, public programs, collections, development, and other initiativesCoordinate project management across the division to ensure all activities are connected and on trackManage production schedule for all communications and marketing activities and ensure all deliverables are submitted within deadlineAssist in the creation of content for the museum’s website and social media channelsAssist with the creation and distribution of reports about the division’s activities including press coverage, website and social media analytics, advertising, and moreAssist in the creation and distribution of communications and marketing materials, emails, press releases, signage, and event collateralAssist in ensuring all communications and marketing initiatives are communicated thoroughly internallyParticipate in the onboarding, setup, and management of the museum’s CRM systemParticipate in the execution of programs and events hosted by the museum, including community activations and booths, press events, public programs, photo and video shoots, and more through development of marketing materials, outreach plans, email communications, onsite signage and logistics, and moreCoordinate production, management, and distribution of all branded itemsSupport division staff with operations and administrative logistics, including ordering supplies, facilitating contracts, and liaising with various partner contactsSchedule internal and external meetings; send agendas and follow-up emails for division-hosted meetingsM
