The Current Use Program manages the enrollment and eligibility of working farm and forest lands across Vermont in conjunction with our state and local partners. The Current Use Property Tax Specialist I will provide administrative and technical support to the program.  This includes entering application data, reviewing basic eligibility information like leases & maps, working collaboratively with the towns to get information submitted, and working with a variety of computer applications. Environmental Factors

Duties are largely performed in an office setting. Strong and conflicting public opinions may be encountered on a regular basis. Workload pressure may vary over a period of time. Some degree of telephone, letter, and face-to-face contact with irritated taxpayers may be anticipated.

Minimum Qualifications

Two (2) years of full-time college coursework or an associate's degree in tax examination, financial management, natural resources, or property assessment.

 

OR

 

High school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years or more of experience as a program technician or administrative assistant.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate's degree or higher in natural sciences or financial management.
