Manager Clinical Pharmacy

Responsible for oversight of pharmacy related health plan activities in order to modify prescription utilization and optimize therapeutic outcomes across all lines of business.

Job Responsibilities

• Leads in planning and implementing clinical programs and services as well as preparing for the corporate Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) Committee meetings as necessary.
• Serves as a clinical resource and drug information specialist to medical, pharmacy, & nursing staff as well as to allied healthcare providers internally and externally.
• Drives strategies with physicians, pharmacists and other health care providers as well as with multi-disciplinary teams across department lines to meet plans quality management, organizational and operational goals.
• Has knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements related to areas of functional responsibility.

Job Qualifications

Education

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) Degree

Experience

• 7 years - Clinical experience required, and/or completion of 1 year residency and/or board certification

Skills\Certifications

• Proven priority-setting and project management skills
• Must be a team player, be organized and have the ability to handle multiple projects
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Competency in compendia navigation and research
• Solid understanding of regulatory guidelines (FDA, NCQA, EQRO, CMS) required
• Knowledge of medical and pharmacy products
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

License

• Licensed in Tennessee to practice Pharmacy, or eligible for licensure in the state of Tennessee to practice Pharmacy

• Formulary management experience in a managed care setting
• Experience with medical drug benefit/management
• Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee experience
