Job Description
As a part of Square’s Compliance team you will have a primary focus on consumer protection compliance matters related to payments and the Block brand. Responsibilities of the role include supporting the development of new products by providing compliance guidance to assist the business with establishing product functionality and operational procedures for both new product development and existing products.
You will:
- Provide guidance and approval on new product and feature development
- Maintain Compliance oversight of product and process change management, and operations related contact centers, fraud servicing and transactional disputes
- Represent Compliance in business and control function meetings
- Analyze regulatory changes and create solutions to new regulatory developments
- Determine compliance testing requirements and methods related to all products
- Provide guidance and approval for compliance policies, procedures, training, and marketing materials
- Oversee the resolution of identified issues as part of the issues management process
- Assist Cash App in preparing for reviews by regulatory agencies, examiners, and internal auditors
- Navigate compliance related inquiries and assist with action plans created as a result of examinations, audits, or internal testing
- Work with the business to identify potential issues, trends and emerging risks
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in compliance or risk management ideally in the financial services industry
- Experience with Consumer Finance Protection Bureau (CFPB)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize observations and present in a clear, concise manner to peers and senior management
- Ability to quickly grasp complex concepts, including global business and regulatory matters
- Experience planning and implementing key initiatives that deliver creative solutions to business, compliance, and technology-related challenges and objectives
- Excellent team management skills and leadership qualities, with the ability to resolve conflicting situations

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Zone A: USD $163,600 - USD $245,400
Zone B: USD $152,200 - USD $228,200
Zone C: USD $144,000 - USD $216,000
Zone D: USD $135,800 - USD $203,600
