About Your Role:
As a Maintenance Technician I at Dollar Tree’s Distribution Center, you’ll perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair conveyors, building systems, machinery, and electrical/controls equipment. You’ll help ensure that all equipment operates at peak efficiency while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Your day-to-day job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Maintenance & Equipment Support:
Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on equipment, including lift trucks, pneumatic systems, hydraulic equipment, dock equipment, and electrical/electronic systems
Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical/electronic problems with equipment, networks, logic controls, PLCs, motor drives (Servo and VFD), and external I/O devices
Diagnose electrical problems using technical drawings (blueprints, schematics) and diagnostic tools (multi-meter, laptop)
Assist other maintenance technicians in the repair and maintenance of equipment
Initiate and implement new procedures or designs to maintain equipment efficiency
Maintain organized work area and promote a safe working environment within the Maintenance department
Documentation & Communication:
Complete work orders, records, logs, and other documentation according to established procedures
Communicate technical issues effectively to associates, leadership, and suppliers to minimize equipment downtime
Ensure workmanship meets the highest quality standards
Equipment Operation:
Operate material handling equipment, battery-powered equipment, and other powered machinery safely
Maintain a customer service-oriented approach while addressing technical issues
Your Required Skills and Experience:
Coursework or certification in electronic technology and 2 years industrial maintenance experience specializing in electronic technology OR 3 years industrial maintenance experience in electronic technology (including troubleshooting and repairing automated equipment)
PLC/PC programming knowledge and troubleshooting experience
Hands-on industrial electrical experience, including 480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, and 24 VDC systems
Advanced troubleshooting skills with PCs and industrial control devices/networking
Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to business leadership
Willingness to work shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Requirements:
Associate’s degree in electronic technology with 2 years of relevant industrial maintenance experience
Experience maintaining automated equipment in a distribution center environment
