Contract Type:  Full Time, Permanent
Location: Ilchester, Somerset, BA22 8JW
Working Hours:  40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:00AM – 5:00PM, On call 1 in 4
Salary: Up to £38,000 dependent on experience

We are hiring a motivated and ambitious Electrician to work in Ilchester and the surrounding area.
 

You will be responsible for successfully delivering the day to day reactive electrical repairs to domestic buildings of MOD families. 
 

You will be provided with a work van (that is opt in for personal use) and will be working individually at your tasks that are scheduled up to 24 hours in advance to undertake electrical reactive repairs and maintenance.
 

Other Key responsibilities include;

 

• To work individually or as part of a team undertaking high quality Electrical repairs Testing and or insulation works
• To comply with BS7671 standards and company standards of work performance, ensuring implantation and compliance within Electrical policies and procedures.
• Ensure implantation and compliance with company health and safety policies and procedures 
• To undertake a continual programme of risk assessment in relation to your role
• Utilise both electronic and paper-based systems to accurately record electrical documentation including the use of materials against each job. 
• Liaise with Family’s, clients and members of VIVO supply chain
• Maintain van stocks and provide information enabling the improvements of Right first-time fixes.

 

What you’ll need to do this role  

 

A NVQ Level 3 qualification in electrical installation work.

18th Edition – BS 7671.

A qualification in inspection and testing is desirable. 

 

This role will require you to travel to remote sites weekly therefore it is essential that you hold a clean and valid UK driving licence or can travel to remote locations without the use of public transport.

 

It is desirable that you have experience of operating within an MOD environment and have familiarity with geography and establishments within area of responsibility.  

 

You must be able to pass BPSS Clearance to be considered for this role.
