JOB SUMMARY
To assist Pharmacists in the daily functions of the Nursing Home Pharmacy, and as necessary with operations within the Central Pharmacy. To support Physicians, Nurses, and other health care professionals in providing pharmaceutical care to patients.
Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School graduate.
Licensure: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred initially or required within 1 year.
Experience: Prior experience. Usually 3 to 6 months on-the-job training is required to learn a majority of the basic Pharmacy Technician functions.
Skills: Typing, calculator, computer, and organizational skills required. Must be able to communicate effectively in person and by phone with nurses, other health professionals, patients, and families. Must have ability to work on own initiative without direct supervision. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Third party billing and collections experience preferred.
