Technician IV, Facility Calibration

The Role

The Senior facility calibration technician plays a critical role in ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of the facility's infrastructure, equipment, and systems at our new facility in Marlborough, MA. They are responsible for overseeing and managing the calibration activities specific to a pharmaceutical setting, adhering to strict regulatory requirements and quality standards.

Here’s What You’ll Do

• provide guidance to a team of facility calibration technicians, assigning tasks and ensuring work is completed efficiently and effectively.

• Perform scheduled and on demand calibrations to support process equipment and systems, in accordance with established procedures and/or approved practices.  Support efforts in developing remediation for follow-up and emergency work. 

• Coordinate and prioritize metrology activities, ensuring timely completion and minimal disruption to operations.

• Troubleshoot complex problems with instrumentation, equipment, and infrastructure, and provide technical expertise to resolve issues.

• Oversee and perform repairs and replacements to instrumentation.

• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or services.

• Develop and implement calibration procedures and protocols to optimize the performance and lifespan of facility systems.

• Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring availability when needed.

• Train and mentor junior technicians, providing guidance on best practices, safety protocols, and technical skills.

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the maintenance team.

• Additional duties as may be assigned from time to time

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training is preferred.

• Military training equivalent of above is acceptable.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to team members and stakeholders.

• Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor.

• Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in maintaining and troubleshooting facility’s infrastructure, such as walls, doors, windows, fit and finish, managing subcontractors and small projects up to $1M.

• PREFERRED SKILLS - In-depth knowledge of various instrumentation, including environmental monitoring devices, processing equipment, and utility systems.
