Job Description:Management of vehicle fleet
- Review and evaluate vehicle conditions; coordinate general and annual vehicle maintenance or inspections; ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards
- Provide oversight for the maintenance, repair and replacement of the Housing vehicle fleet; assist with diagnosis of mechanical issues
- Manage the inventory of vehicles, vehicle locations/use, vehicle supplies, and surplus inventory of vehicles and supplies as appropriate
- Assist with preparation of annual budget for replacement/maintenance of fleet vehicles and equipment
- Assist in creation and maintenance of comprehensive fleet management plans for unit including but not limited to preventative maintenance, replacement scheduling, and assessing operations needs for fleet
- Assist in developing and coordinating standard operating procedures for vehicles for unit; maintain and store vehicle logs
- Ensure cleanliness of vehicle fleet
Responsible for management of equipment and inventory for unit
- Consult with area supervisors on projects needing specialized materials, contractors, or equipment; Create project schedules minimizing disruptions and interruption of service
- Coordinate rental of construction related equipment working with area supervisors to schedule use of equipment; research products and gather quotes as needed
- Review requirements for equipment and material logistics, implement inventory control systems, and orders and maintains stock of materials and equipment; create recommendations budget for replacement
- Management of communication devices for department to include programming, ensuring proper use, and developing radio replacement plans
- Responsible for requisition, storage, and assignment of unit staff uniforms
- Responsible for management and inventory of emergency supplies and equipment; ensure timely distribution to all employees upon hire
- Assist with development of procedures and policies related to equipment rental
- Develop and implement job and work standards and inspection procedures for workmanship, performance productivity, and safety.
Assist with coordination of construction project management
- Assists in reviewing minor construction project plans and specifications; assist with inspection process as needed
- Track work orders and special projects, documenting expenditures and maintaining records for each project
Responsible for coordination of annual environmental health and safety inspections; ensure compliance with regulations and standards
- Coordinate required inspection processes for all departmental buildings including state fire marshal inspections, Environmental Health & Safety inspections, and other required equipment requiring inspections such as AED devices, Narcan inventories, and first aid kits.
- Coordinate staff training ensuring compliance (e.g. confined space procedures, heat stress)
Perform other duties as assigned, including special tasks or projects
- Operates state vehicles

Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and 2 years of appropriate experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.- A valid FL driver's license. Preferred:
EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:
- Five years of experience with automotive repair, multiple skilled trades, or building construction and design
- Working knowledge of Florida state building codes and other relevant codes and standards (e.g. Florida Fire codes, NEC, NFPA, ADA)
- Experience working with budgets and financial procedures
- Experience working with and developing preventive maintenance programs
SKILLS:
- Must be able to work efficiently with minimum supervision and demonstrate personal initiative
- Demonstrated proficiency with computers and basic software applications (e.g. work order management systems, Microsoft Office)
- Demonstrated communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to communicate with various levels of staff
- Demonstrated attention to detail, professionalism, dependability, and timelin
