Senior Data Engineer

Position Summary
The Senior Data Engineer will help to build, maintain, and deploy machine learning models with Operations. This includes working with Data Science team to shepherd the advanced analytic models through the SDLC process.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Data Science team to design and build models
• Build scripts to make data available in the Data Lake
• Manage workflow scheduling with tools like Oozie
• Migrate data and models from Development to Testing to Production – SDLC
• Ensure best practices in model design and deployment are being followed
• Establish a full data pipeline to serve the ML model
• Monitor model performance
• Partner with Data Management and Full Stack development engineers to operationalize models with current applications and processes
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• 5 plus years of experience in advanced experience with building machine learning models
• 5 plus years of experience with using Data Science workbooks like Jupyter or Sage Maker
• 5 plus years of experience with best practices to build and maintain Cloud Data Lakes
• 5 plus years of experience in building and deploying models with operations
• Experience with AWS strongly preferred
• Health care experience is preferred

Skills

• Strong development experience with: Python, Glue, Spark, Kafka, Oozie or similar technologies
• Excellent verbal, communication, negotiation and presentation skills
• Ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms
• Dedicated, hardworking employee who achieves maximum efficiency and productivity
• Strong knowledge of domain based design, data modeling and data structures
• Strong knowledge of best practice in data management
