Staff Software Engineer, Core Infrastructure, 9+ Years of Experience

We’re looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join Snap Inc on our Core Infrastructure team! 

What you’ll do:

• Design, implement, and operate Snap's most critical and scalable infrastructure services - including Service Mesh, API Gateway, deployment orchestration, and K8s fleet management.

• Lead Snap’s Cloud Architecture, set the technical strategy, build a roadmap, create measurable goals, and drive execution across teams to deliver

• Collaborate with Product, Operation, Cloud Providers, and Engineering teams on key infrastructure initiatives

• Evaluate the technical tradeoffs of major decisions and be a strong technical mentor

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Hands-on knowledge of cloud infrastructure and operational excellence patterns and practices

• Background with building high availability and mission critical distributed systems

• Experience with Java, Go, C++, and/or Python

• Ability leading and executing large, complex technical initiatives

• Ability to proactively learn new concepts and apply them at work

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science or equivalent experience

• 9+ years industry software engineering experience

• Experience with large scale distributed systems, and Cloud Computing

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Service Oriented architectures and Service Mesh

• Experience promoting operational excellence, leading incident management, and postmortems

• Experience with building and maintaining mission-critical and highly-available global distributed systems
