Staff Accountant, ICR Revenue

The Staff Accountant – Inspire Company Restaurants (ICR) Revenue Accounting will support the manager to ensure revenue accounting policies are executed in compliance with US GAAP. Further, this role will contribute to the achievement of the Company’s timely and accurate reporting by assisting with OneInspire Finance process improvement initiatives and department goals.

This position sits onsite in our Atlanta Support Center 3-4 times per week.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Validate accuracy of polled sales through the use of auditing exception query investigations and resolution of issues.  Communicate late/missing deposits and change order payments to senior accountant. Follow up on and resolve existing uncollected/unreconciled items in a timely manner
• Ensure deadlines are met for assigned sales and cash reconciliations, and all reconciling issues are followed up on with Operations and the banks in a timely manner
• Prepare Balance Sheet and Bank Reconciliations each period to ensure completeness and accuracy. Adhere to effective internal control environment
• Review the Profit and Loss including Sales Revenue, Cash Over/Short, and post correcting journal entries each period to ensure appropriate GAAP treatment.
• Provide high levels of customer service to Restaurant Managers and other stakeholders
• Perform ad-hoc projects to help analyze and support Company decisions.
• Maintain an attitude of flexibility that allows performance above and beyond the parameters of this position description exhibiting a team player attitude.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

• 4 Year Degree in Accounting
• Certified Public Accountant track preferred 
• 0-3 years accounting experience

• Ability to work collaboratively or independently to produce accurate results, meet assigned deadlines, and make sound decisions
• Flexible, “hands-on,” self-starter with strong initiative and work ethic.
• Good communication, analytical, and organizational skills
• Understanding of accounting principles and procedures necessary for maintaining proper company books and records to ensure accurate accounting in accordance with GAAP
• Proficient in Microsoft EXCEL (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
