Job Summary
Each member of the LDO team plays a lead role in designing and managing particular offerings. Additionally, each team member plays a role supporting other programs through activities such as individual and team coaching, facilitating workshops, and classroom instruction. Finally, each team member owns a set of administrative responsibilities necessary to the success of the Office. All team members are part of a group that collectively manages all office activities.
This role manages a team of professional staff responsible for leadership education programs as they relate to student leadership development, including designing and delivering workshops and training exercises. Oversees the design and implementation of the facilitator experience including activities such as building a strong and enduring facilitator community. Serves as a coach for all developmental programs in order to support the development of students' capacities as leaders.
Responsibilities
- Oversees the design and implementation of the LEAD class for Chicago-based (XP) Executive MBA students. This includes overseeing all operations and logistics for Chicago-based Executive MBA LEAD class and associated programming; managing vendor contracts, facilities, purchases, and event management; managing the XP EMBA budget; managing student grading; receiving and addressing student concerns in a professional, compassionate, timely, and effective manner. The role also includes interpreting the core curricular goals of the required LEAD class based on executive student needs and aspirations; creating and implementing innovative, experiential classroom learning experiences that are aligned with developmental course goals (which may include both leadership and career development goals); and leading a team to deliver all classroom learning experiences in ways that are consistent with other Executive MBA locations.
- Manages a small team of staff. This includes hiring and managing team members and building a team that is creative, responsible, flexible, committed, and capable; supporting the success and growth of team members via on-going developmental conversations; and advocating for team members as necessary.
- Serves as a coach for LDO developmental programs, with a particular focus on executive career and leadership development coaching that meets the needs of experienced working professionals across a wide variety of business functions and industries. Coaching may take place one-on-one or in group settings and serve US and international students and alumni.
