Job Description

Reaction Engines is committed to developing cutting-edge thermal management technology to enable breakthroughs in performance and sustainability in several high-tech sectors including aerospace, automotive, and energy. The Senior Project Engineer will work closely with our Advanced Programs and Systems & Test departments to ensure delivery of our active programs in thermal management hardware development and high-temperature testing.

Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in several project management skills including budget, schedule, and resource management, risk identification, progress tracking, and managing deliverables. Candidates will be expected to track the progress of several project through a variety of metrics that are used for internal tracking and communicating to external stakeholders. Candidates will also be expected to work with the UK team to request project resources and report on status. We are seeking to grow our project management capability with this Senior Project Engineer role and support further development of our world-class thermal management technology.

Responsibilities
• Assists in project management of active programs in hardware development and testing
• Work with the technical team to assess progress, open items, and path to closure
• Attends project meetings to capture decisions and track actions
• Works with finance and engineering to generate artifacts for tracking cost and schedule
• Identifies project risks and tracks resolution with the technical team
• Communicates externally to customers and stakeholders on project status, risks, and opportunities
• Tracks deliverables to ensure compliance with CDRL and SOW
• Assist with internal and external resource planning based on contractual needs
• Proficient with gathering and organizing customer requirements for engineering work packages
• Reviews technical documentation pertaining to deliverables
• Responsible for compiling and delivery of CDRLs to customers based on project schedule
• Supports proposal scoping, costing, and scheduling of new business development opportunities
• Establishes effective relationship with clients, customers, officials, contractors, and others
• Provides leadership to the team through technical expertise and guidance
• Reports on project/task progress during company meetings
• Supports writing & presenting of reports and proposals

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Project Management, or other equivalent field of discipline from an accredited institution.
• Previous experience in project management in testing or product development.
• Must comply with all applicable import and export control laws and regulations including, ITAR and EAR regulations.
• The ability to conform to U.S. Government space technology and advanced propulsion export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident of the U.S.

Desired Qualifications
• 4+ years of work experience in project management and/or product development
• Experience with working with project management principles (earned value, gate reviews)
• Experience with project management software including Microsoft Project
• Experience working with finance to generate cost artifacts from project data
• Experience working on complex projects with work packages moving in parallel
• Experience engaging with external parties and presenting technical information
• Experience in mentoring engineers and teaching technical skill sets
