Summary of Job Duties:
The University of Arkansas at Monticello invites applications for an assistant/instructor faculty position in accounting. Primary duties consist of teaching Principles of Managerial Accounting and upper-level courses in the major such as Cost Accounting, Auditing, Governmental/Nonprofit and Accounting Information Systems. Other responsibilities include advising students and service to the University and the School of Business. Expectations for promotion and tenure include research/scholarly activities appropriate to a teaching-centered School of Business. Collegiality, professionalism, effective communication skills, and a strong commitment to teaching excellence are necessary. As a member of the business faculty the successful candidate will be an integral part of the School and have the opportunity to shape the accounting and business programs.
Qualifications:
For appointment at the assistant professor level a Ph.D. or D.B.A. is strongly preferred. Applicants with CPA licensure and a Master’s degree in business, accounting, or a related field may be considered for appointment at the assistant level. Applicants with a Master’s degree in business, accounting, or a related field may be considered for appointment at the instructor level. Preference will be given to candidates with previous higher education teaching experience, both online and in-person.
