As the Senior Manager, Global Sourcing and Continuous Improvement, you will have the opportunity to significantly contribute to the organization’s success by ensuring a reliable and cost-effective supply chain that supports business growth. In particular, you will be responsible for a category of commodity/products inclusive of supplier selection, management and strategy and leading Continuous Improvement. The successful candidate will be proactive and results driven, with a passion for strategic sourcing and supplier management.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
- Supplier Sourcing Management
- Prepare the yearly sourcing strategy for the global business in each commodity category (PCBA’s, Metals, Plastics, Batteries, Cable, etc.) with a goal to identify cost savings opportunities, risk areas and spend trends, and create a procurement roadmap.
- Own a multi-year cost savings pipeline, track progress to goals, and develop strategies to meet targets while mitigating negative impacts to PPV.
- Own and maintain the global supplier scorecards, working across departments to gather supplier performance data in areas such as part quality, on-time delivery and service levels.
- Partner with key suppliers to expand stocking programs and lead joint cost optimization initiatives.
- Execute supply agreements in collaboration with the legal department, to ensure coverage for AtoN exposure against unforeseen excess/obsolete materials at suppliers.
- Distribute monthly market trends report for key commodity categories to the company’s leadership and be prepared to quickly implement strategies to take advantage of or protect against sudden market fluctuations.
- Lead the development and execution of special/strategic supply chain projects and initiatives.
- Manage inventory initiatives and drive buyers to analyze usage, supplier lead times and material availability by leveraging SAP and the PFEP (Plan for Every Part) to meet zero stockouts goals.
- Support inventory turns target by monitoring buyer performance in ordering according to Lean principles of matching supply and demand as closely as possible.
- Support and proactively manage material obsolescence processes alongside the Finance department.
- Relationship Management
- Manage as well as develop a global team of procurement professionals and work with each to meet specific business needs for each AtoN location.
