JOB SUMMARY: The Giving Specialist is a vital member of our team, responsible for cultivating and stewarding relationships with our generous donors and the broader community. This role is a central point of contact for donor relations, plays a key role in assisting with grant funding, assisting with our communication channels including social media, assists with marketing efforts, and supports all aspects of resource development, fundraising, and volunteer engagement. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate individual with excellent communication skills and a commitment to our mission.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

Donor Relations & Stewardship

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for donor inquiries, providing timely and professional responses.
  • Manage and maintain the donor database, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records.
  • Develop and implement donor stewardship strategies, including personalized thank you letters, impact reports, and recognition programs.
  • Coordinate and execute donor cultivation events and activities.
  • Track donor interactions and preferences to enhance relationship-building efforts.

Grant Writing & Management

  • Assist the Grant Manager in researching and identify potential grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government sources.
  • Assist the Grant Manager in writing compelling and persuasive grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports.
  • Manage the grant submission calendar and ensure timely submission of all applications.
  • Track grant outcomes and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Grant Manager and program managers.

Communication & Marketing Support

  • Assist with developing and implementing engaging content for various communication channels, including newsletters, email campaigns, and website updates.
  • Manage and grow the organization's social media presence (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn), creating compelling posts and interacting with followers.
  • Assist with the development of marketing materials, such as brochures, flyers, and annual reports.
  • Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all external communications.
  • Draft press releases and support media outreach efforts as needed.

Outreach & Community Engagement

  • Represent the organization at community events, networking opportunities, and presentations to raise awareness and build relationships.
  • Identify and cultivate new potential donor, volunteer, and partnership prospects through targeted outreach.
  • Collaborate with community groups and other organizations to expand our reach and impact.
  • Assist in developing and implementing outreach strategies to engage diverse audiences.

Resource Development & Fundraising

  • Support the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns and events.
  • Assist with individual giving strategies, including direct mail and online giving initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for corporate sponsorships and partnerships.
  • Contribute to the development of fundraising goals and strategies.

Volunteer Management Support

  • Assist with volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts.
  • Support the coordination of volunteer schedules and activities.
  • Ensure volunteers feel valued and appreciated for their contributions.

 The Giving Specialist will also be responsible for performing other duties as assigned to contribute to the success of the organization.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Proven track record of successful grant writing and securing funding.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to craft compelling narratives.
  • Proficiency in managing social media platforms and creating engaging content.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
