The Lead Analyst develops and maintains complex operational processes for the Company s general and separate accounts using various front office investment systems to support portfolio management. Researches ad-hoc complex investment data needs to determine efficient and accurate data flow, and responsible for portfolio management, board, risk management and client reporting.
What you will do
Serve as a Portfolio Manager's primary point of contact with investment operations, compliance, client service, and business analysts.
Support portfolio managers, including: monitoring portfolio performance; conducting statistical analyses; assembling and reviewing data; completing performance attribution analyses; monitoring cash flows; maintaining target allocations and completing ad hoc and recurring analyses.
Provide guidance and/or training to junior operations staff but does not have formally assigned management authority.
Coordinate, perform and document complex investment operational processes.
Prepare daily, monthly and quarterly reporting for portfolio management, board, risk management and client reporting purposes. This includes creation, documentation and presentation of new report packages to management based on management requirements.
Research, determine and document process improvements and system enhancements to increase overall effectiveness and efficiency to support trading and portfolio manager initiatives.
Assist with new process implementation.
Reconciliation, review and management of investment data within the investment systems.
What you will bring
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Math, Accounting or Business Administration required.
MBA, CFA or other professional designation preferred
Ten plus years of experience in finance, accounting, math or investment operational roles
What will set you apart
Strong understanding and experience with fixed income financial instruments and the markets as well as strong analytical and quantitative skills Intermediate in MS Office (Excel, Access and Power Point) required
Experience with SAP Crystal Reports, SAP Business Objects Web Intelligence (WEBi) or similar report design software, Bloomberg, Barclays Live, Barclays POINT is highly desired
Strong communication skills and attention to detail required
Continuing/post graduate education or professional certification may be required (e.g. MBA, CFA, etc.)
Travel potentially up to one or two times per year.
