Job Summary: Interviews perspective borrowers to originate FHA, VA and Conventional mortgage loan applications and prepares required packages for loan approval. Builds relationships with Sales Agents, Realtors and buyers to secure business and exceed company goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Generates and originates new loan packaging services and assists the home buyer with financing needs. Provides information to sales staff on current mortgage rates, loan programs and qualification of buyers to assist in potential sales.
• Interviews loan applicants to gather specific information relative to credit, employment, and financial history.
• Analyzes and evaluates applicant financial status and credit information to determine qualification and use of appropriate loan programs and interest rate lock.
• Ensures loan applications are complete and accurate according to policy and for delivery to underwriting for approval.
• Assist with special projects as requested and perform additional duties as required.

Requirements

Minimum Education Experience

Associate’s Degree in finance or mortgage lending with at least 2 to 4 years of experience in a purchase intensive mortgage lending/finance environment. Thorough knowledge of loan processing and underwriting fundamentals. Must have active NMLS license and extensive experience with purchase mortgages to include FNMA, FHLMC, FHA and VA loans guidelines. BUILDER MORTGAGE experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities

• Must have extensive experience with purchase money mortgage loans with ability to confidently qualify buyers per FNMA, FHLMC, FHA and VA loan guidelines.
• Customer-service oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with a variety of people inside and outside of the organization.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness are of the essence.
• Self-starter with the ability to make quick decisions.
• Strong organization and negotiating skills to develop new business.
• Ability to elicit, interpret, analyze, and evaluate given information relative to underwriting guidelines and lender/investor requirements.
• Ability to work independently as needed.
• Team player mentality with a let’s get it done attitude.

Work Conditions

This position is full-time, on-site in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is not a remote or hybrid position. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license required for travel to remote sales offices and meetings with potential business associates. Some weekend work is required.
