The EHS&S Analyst is responsible for leading a wide range of reporting, improvement initiatives, and analytical duties supporting Oldcastle IPG’s EHS & sustainability programs. This position will work closely with the Directors of EHS&S define, develop, and execute programs that drive awareness and maximize impact around environmental compliance, safety and sustainability.

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

 

  • Communicate expectations to data owners regarding sustainability data reporting timeline as well as data quality/internal control processes.
  • Request sustainability data (e.g., emissions, water, waste, etc.) from various stakeholders on regular basis. Analyze sustainability data throughout the year to ensure accurate reporting of data and follow up on any data variances to address data issues timely.
  • Train data owners on use of data collection tool and background of various data streams
  • Assist with responding to data owners and stakeholder questions.
  • Support with development and review of annual sustainability data for external disclosures (e.g., GHG emissions, SASB Index, etc.).
  • Support external ESG Assessment responses by providing information on business practices and any necessary data.
  • Research sustainability reporting requirements and developments, provide recommendations on applicability and importance to GATX.
  • Document data changes from previous years to support internal review process prior to publishing.
  • Develop internal and external EHS and sustainability information, presentations, and communications.
  • Assist with special projects, audits, and third-party validation efforts.
  • Develop process and controls for effective data management.
  • Building and implementing internal controls/checklists/procedures to support effective and consistent EHS and sustainability reporting programs.
  • Assist in completion of internal validation and potential third-party assurance efforts.
  • Work closely with data owners to identify data automation opportunities and work with Data Analytics team to build automated data systems.
  • Develops and maintains EHS performance metrics, trend analysis, OSHA reporting to internal, leadership, parent company and other key stakeholders.
  • Tracks, documents and files regulatory reports, incident investigations, waste manifests, SDS and VOC reporting, air quality monitoring and other environmental and safety-related tasks.
  • Participates in cross-functional teams to conduct risk assessments & manage change reviews to proactively identify potential risks.
  • Supports implementation of an EHS culture strategy and adapts as necessary to meet changing business needs.
  • Prepare presentations for findings and recommendations.

 

 

Experience/Knowledge Requirements

 

  • 3+ years of experience in corporate responsibility and/or EHS.
  • Knowledge and experience in EHS standards and best practices as well as learn and apply sustainability standards that leverage experience in ambiguous spaces.
  • Possesses thorough understanding of local, State & Federal EHS requirements.
  • Ability to work on multiple types of projects.
  • Experience working with various teams to leverage expertise where it is available to get the job done.
  • A high level of enthusiasm, creativity, self-motivation, resourcefulness, and effectiveness as a team player.
  • Ability to sell ideas, presenting strategies at various levels.
