Georgetown’s Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center (LCCC) seeks to prevent, treat and cure cancers by linking scientific discovery, expert and compassionate patient care, quality education and partnership with the community - guided by the principle of cura personalis – care for others.
Job Overview
The Research Assistant, in a role central to the aims of our research studies in line with the objectives of the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, supports research projects targeting Chinese and White American populations.
They assist in recruiting Chinese- and English-speaking participants from communities and clinics, conducting telephone interviews, performing data entry, coordinating with laboratory workers, attending study-related research meetings, and interacting with study staff on a regular basis.
Performing all duties in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Georgetown University Medical Center's philosophy, procedures, and standards, they assist Dr. Wang and collaborative researchers in delivering materials and related administrative work.
Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation
The Research Assistant works closely work with the Principal Investigator (PI) to accomplish proposed research tasks so that the PI has steady progress in data collection in order to report to the funding agency and disseminate the results to the public.
This position has been designated as Hybrid. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University. Requirements and Qualifications
- B.A. and B.S with experience in social and behavioral, health research - preference for M.S. or M.A. in the social, behavioral, or health sciences
- 2 to 3 years of experience
- Skills for extensive use of computer - e.g., English and/or Chinese word process and data processors)
Preferred Qualification
Proficiency in both English and Chinese languages
