We are currently seeking a Senior Database Management Engineer - REMOTE in US to join our team in Plano, Texas (US-TX), United States (US).

Experience Level:
- 6–10 years database administration experience
- 3+ years managing DBaaS in public cloud environments
- 2+ years in a senior DBA role, supporting operations 24/7
Support Model:
- On-call rotation required
Role Summary
The Database Management SME delivers advanced hands-on administration and operational support for database platforms in public cloud environments, ensuring performance, security, automation adherence, and SLA compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform hands-on administration of SQL Server and Oracle databases across AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI.
- Execute database backup, restore, patching, and upgrade operations.
- Monitor and tune database performance using cloud-native monitoring tools.
- Perform 24x7 system monitoring of database engines, storage, logs, and replication.
- Implement and maintain:
- Backup schedules and recovery workflows
- Replication and high availability configurations
- Support database lifecycle management, including:
- Provisioning and decommissioning
- Data archiving and purging
- Backup retention policies
- Apply and support Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) standards using:
- Terraform
- Cloud-native deployment templates
- Enforce database security policies, including:
- Encryption at rest and in transit
- IAM-based access controls
- Audit logging and SIEM integration
- Conduct performance tuning activities:
- Query optimization
- Index maintenance
- I/O and memory optimization
- Perform database refreshes, exports, imports, and environment cloning.
- Maintain OEM schemas, database objects, and storage allocations.
- Identify databases containing restricted or sensitive data and support reporting.
- Participate in on-call rotation, incident response, and root cause analysis.
- Maintain operational documentation and contribute to continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- 6+ years database administration experience
- 3+ years managing DBaaS in public cloud environments
- 2+ years in a senior DBA role, supporting operations 24/7
Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting pay range for this role will depend on the nature of the role offered and will either be $87,900 to $110,000 . Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications.
This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance. If the position offered in temporary, the position will not be eligible for incentive compensation.
