Job Summary:
The Sr. Manufacturing Engineering Manager (MEM) is responsible for designing, reviewing, and optimizing manufacturing and assembly processes for both new and revised product designs. This role involves developing innovative processes to meet product and manufacturing specifications, managing industrialization projects with external manufacturers, and ensuring alignment with overall business strategies. The MEM will create project budgets, manage resources, train stakeholders, and collaborate across departments such as R&D, Quality, and IT. Additionally, the MEM will monitor and report on project progress, contribute to supplier selection and strategic sourcing, and oversee the management of critical manufacturing data, including product-specific BOMs and DMRs. This position plays a key role in driving operational excellence and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manages team of Manufacturing Engineers, Technicians, Engineering Drafter and CNC programmers and all of Automation.
- Collaborates with operations managers and Plant leadership to set and assess priorities across teams.
- Assesses cost effectiveness and feasibility of manufacturing processes; makes and implements recommendations to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Develops tooling strategies, designs and manufacturing methods to reduce variable tooling costs and improve product quality.
- Create and supports CAPEX project planning and submissions.
- Provides guidance and oversight in development and execution of plant renovations and expansions, coordinates outside contractors and vendors.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining Machine programming data and files.
- Assists the Maintenance team in TPM programs in achieving World Class machine availability.
- Participates and supports plant lean continuous improvement activities to drive operational improvements.
- Drive plant layout improvements to maximize flow of materials and floor space utilization.
- Coordinate and manage functional teams to provide process and manufacturability inputs to designs throughout the product development process.
- Ensures compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and guidelines, including EPA and OSHA requirements.
