Responsibilities & Qualifications

We are seeking a Team Lead Firewall Administrator to join our DLA team.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience in network security, firewall administration, or related IT disciplines.

  • Demonstrated experience leading or supervising technical teams in a network security environment.

  • Strong working knowledge of Check Point firewalls, including versions R81 and R82.

  • In-depth knowledge of Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) operations.

  •  Experience with installation, configuration, and sustainment of network equipment, including:

    • Firewalls

    •  Proxy servers

    • Cloud-based security services

    •  Other network security appliances

  • Familiarity with incident ticket tracking systems and operational workflows.
  • Comprehensive understanding of DoD and DLA security regulations, policies, and Information Assurance (IA) standards.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and enterprise network security architectures.

Certifications

  • DoD 8570/8140 Baseline Certification (IAT Level II or higher – one required):

    • CompTIA Security+ (Continuing Education)

    • CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+)

    • Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)

    • GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)

    • GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH)

    • CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+ CE)

Clearance

  • Top Secret clearance with IT1 Critical Sensitive or 5 (T5) investigation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide overall supervision and leadership for contractor personnel supporting firewall and network security operations.
  • Plan, manage, and coordinate project activities to ensure efficient use of resources and timely execution of tasks.
  • Ensure accurate, complete, and timely reporting to Government stakeholders.
  • Exercise authority to resolve technical and operational issues, allocate resources, manage personnel, and monitor performance.
  • Execute work under general supervision while managing efforts from project inception through completion.
  • Develop requirements and technical specifications for simple to moderately complex network security solutions.
  • Coordinate with Vendor Program Manager (PM), Technical Points of Contact (TPOCs), and Government representatives to ensure technical accuracy and user satisfaction.
  • Oversee installation, configuration, and sustainment of network security infrastructure, including firewalls, proxy servers, and cloud-based security solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD and DLA cybersecurity policies, Information Assurance (IA) standards, and best practices.
  • Monitor operational performance and ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and mission requirements.
  • Utilize incident ticket tracking systems to manage work orders, track incidents, and ensure timely resolution.
