This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

 

As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will develop and manage integration plans, schedule and reporting in support of the New Glenn Stage II and Payload Accommodations (“GS2PA”) program. GS2PA must support affordable, low-cost access to space, and stage production and rapid stage production ramp-up is necessary to maintain the flight manifest.

 

In this critical role, you will be fully integrated within a vehicle stage team to help develop and manage integration plans and schedule, manage and report build progress, and work with various organizations and subsystems to understand technical and schedule risk and manage mitigations.  As the primary point of contact, you must enjoy solving communication and organizational problems, earning trust and improving the overall performance of all teams involved. We are seeking a self-motivated and highly organized individual who can work with minimal direction and coordinate teams in the successful execution of engineering integration and program management activities.  Assignments can range from supporting New Glenn integration activities to leading risk mitigation projects to using data analytics to gain program insight on performance.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop plans for integration projects; lead cross-functional teams, manage and report progress
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation plans
  • Build metrics and data reports to provide program insights to performance
  • Facilitate change boards to assess programmatic impact of change requests
  • Drive process improvements to continuously improve program operation
  • Coordinate with procurement, internal and external manufacturing, to ensure that hardware priorities are well understood and are actively managed to support the need dates
  • Identify schedule-critical hardware, equipment, people, and facilities; resolve constraints
  • Accountable for engineering-based subject matter expertise that supports the deliverables, products, assemblies, sub-assemblies, components etc., that ultimately drive the technical engineering of the project.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of science degree in engineering
  • 5-10 years of experience in design, development, integration, or testing – preferably with aerospace hardware or complex technical systems. Candidates with various levels of experience are welcome to apply.
  • Possess high attention to detail and strong organizational/coordination skills
  • Demonstrated ability building trusting and effective working relationships that improve team performance and deliver results
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of configuration management principles and practices
  • Experience managing large assemblies and Bills of Material
  • Experience in development of launch vehicles or other complex systems
  • Experience leading a small technical team
  • Experience with Primavera (P6), DOORS, CREO, Windchill
  • Experience leading change management activities
  • Experience with data analytics
  • Experience with technical risk management
  • Working familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and Tableau
  • Experience across multiple portions of the product life cycle
