About the role
Position Summary
The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for managing the procurement, inventory, and vendor relations within our organization. The role requires excellent attention to detail, and a deep understanding of healthcare purchasing practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Manage the day-to-day ordering of supplies, coordinating the reordering process to avoid shortages and overstock situations
- Oversee the management of inventory levels, ensuring an adequate supply of medical materials while minimizing excess stock
- Address any vendor-related issues promptly and work collaboratively to find solutions
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure a reliable and efficient supply chain
- Implement efficient inventory control processes to optimize storage and reduce waste
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to understand their material needs, considering clinical requirements and budget constraints
- Utilize your extensive knowledge of the infusion industry to make informed decisions regarding the procurement of infusion-related equipment and supplies
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices
Minimum Qualifications
- 2-4 years' proven experience in materials management within the healthcare industry, with a focus on infusion materials
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational abilities
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, and internal personal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
