We are currently looking for a Senior Electrical Material Engineer F/M, reporting directly to the Head of the Electrical Material Department, to join our team in Paris (Nanterre, 92).

About your team:

Within the engineering division of Technip Energies' Paris office, you will be attached to the Electricity Department.

With 60 years' experience in energy project design, the division is made up of 600 people representing all the disciplines present on our installations (>20).

 

About the mission we are offering:

You will participate in the engineering and design of projects carried out by TEN France for the Group's various Business Lines, decarbonized solutions (Carbon capture, H2, Wind), LNG or biofuels. On these projects, most of which are export projects, you will interface with teams from other disciplines within Technip Energies (project management, procurement, construction) as well as our mainly international partners.

As a Senior Electrical Material Engineer F/M,, you will work in multicultural electrical teams and will be responsible for defining, selecting and following up orders for complex electrical equipment such as high-voltage switchboards and transformers, high-power variable speed drives or electrical generation packages, and/or supervising the follow-up of simple electrical equipment (low-voltage switchboards, transformers, UPS, etc.).

Your main tasks on the project will be to:

  • Write or review specifications, data-sheets and requisitions for main electrical equipment and power generation packages (EDG, GTG, STG, etc.) in accordance with project specifications and network calculations
  • Draw up protection diagrams and standard control-command diagrams
  • Participate in the selection of the equipment best suited to project constraints (technology, schedule, cost, etc.). 
  • Review and comment on supplier documentation, and ensure technical follow-up of equipment after order
  • Work with the purchasing department to monitor the schedule and cost impact of changes in equipment orders
  • Work with installation specialists to ensure that electrical equipment is correctly installed in the project design (location in rooms, connection possibilities...).
  • Provide assistance to the inspection department during the factory acceptance of systems (FAT)
  • Interface with the network manager

Your profile:

We look forward to meeting you and discussing your suitability for this position. To succeed in this mission, you must meet the following requirements:

  • You have an engineering degree from a leading engineering school, either general or specializing in electrical engineering, and at least 10 years' experience in electrical engineering or design.
    Significant experience in a power generation plant, open distribution substation, high-power variable speed drive or experience in the operating or start-up phase would be a plus.
    Flexible, rigorous and dynamic, you are a team player who thrives on contact with different cultures, people and environments.
    You speak English and French fluently, and are mobile enough to travel in France and abroad.
    You are comfortable with basic office and IT tools, experience on ETAP or DIgSILENT would be a plus.
