Position Summary:
In this position the Fuel Supply Specialist, Carbon + Fuel Markets you will have and be responsible for maintaining an in-depth knowledge of fuel markets, compliance issues, and have active involvement in carbon marketplaces, carbon auctions, customer setup, Clean Fuel programs research, monitoring reportable gallons, collaboration with the Washington State Ecology and Oregon Department of Environmental Quality. You will develop process recommendations for the company to ensure compliance and business optimization within this scope of knowledge. You will work collaboratively with internal and external teams to advise and support the necessary programs across the organization regarding Carbon + Fuel Markets. You will also provide cross-functional backup support for pricing and supply functions within the Fuel Supply team. Responsible to consistently role model our Core Values.

Essential Position Functions and Responsibilities:
- Track carbon prices daily and manage settings in pricing systems that incorporate those prices.
- Research credit generating opportunities within the Clean Fuel programs.
- Research exemption opportunities within all programs.
- Develop and communicate strategies to purchase carbon credits and allowances with support from the Fuel Supply Manager for presentation to Senior Leadership.
- Provide knowledge and information to appropriate internal teams to support exempt customer set up.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure the organization's compliance with regulatory requirements for Carbon + Fuel, including environmental.
- Collaborate and communicate cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure alignment with program compliance requirements, goals, and initiatives.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to compliance metrics, reportable gallons, and carbon market activities.
- Establish trading accounts on multiple platforms for carbon credits and allowances.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on compliance status, program trends, and opportunities for improvement.
- Completes reporting as needing for state agencies.
- Collaborates with the Washington State Ecology and Oregon Department of Environmental Quality as well as other entities as needed to ensure compliance and foster positive relationships.
- Engages with external stakeholders, such as government agencies and industry associations, to stay informed and influence regulatory developments.
- Provide training and guidance to team members and other relevant departments on fuel market and compliance matters.
- Provide support for various pricing functions and other team members as needed.
