About the role
In this role, the incumbent supports the delivery of deposit products and departmental relationships to help serve members efficiently and accurately. Implements and maintains the regulations, procedures, disclosures, and other related activities for new and changing deposit products. Provides knowledge in ACH and Share draft processing, Cash Management processing, wire transfers, and other deposit functions. Provides support functions to ensure the accurate and efficient delivery of automated solutions to our members.
Expected Outcomes:
- Provide deposit knowledge and member service to both internal and external members.
- Use knowledge associated with all SCU deposit products, features, benefits, policies, procedures, regulations, and market conditions to answer questions.
- Implement procedures that support member relationship building and remove activities not involved in the member interaction from the front line.
- Provide real time feedback and information to front line staff for achieving member standards
- Review and process the exception reports daily (ACH and/or Share draft).
- Reviews and takes appropriate steps for ACH Stop Payments and ACH Written Statement of Unauthorized Debit forms, including creating returns on Fedline or our core system.
- Work with Business Services regarding the set-up of new businesses and troubleshooting of our Cash Management system.
- Review and process ACH origination items including debit origination (DBO) forms and returns from DBO’s and business originations (Cash Mgmt).
- Notify and work with members regarding check printing.
- Perform Harland Clarke check printing and loan coupon processing including corrections.
- Research member paper check adjustments and prepare through the clearing house system.
- Assist in processing wire requests balancing timeliness with proper security procedures to ensure members funds are delivered and received within approved guidelines.
- Understands and is accountable for executing all job functions in a way that is consistent with all requirements of BSA, OFAC and the USA Patriot Act/Customer Identification Act (CIP).
Job Specifications:
- Professional well developed writing and interpersonal skills essential for interacting with credit union staff, members and outside business partners.
- Work requires ability to work accurately with figures and ability to perform detailed work. Work also requires the ability to operate a variety of office equipment (10-key, personal computer, Microsoft office).
- Requires educational equivalent to a high school education plus additional coursework in office procedures desired.
- One to three years experience in a bank or credit union setting.
- Requires judgment to solve day-to-day problems but usually within established guidelines using a member service approach. This includes process improvements to increase the member experience or create an efficiency for the department.
- Basic mathematical skills required (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division).
