About the role

Job Title: Chief People Officer - Fractional
Employment Status: Part-time
Office Hours: flexible
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Compensation: competitive compensation, dependent on experience level

Ketryx is an AI-native compliance platform that enables life sciences companies to ship life-saving products in weeks instead of years.

The complex regulation for safety critical products and the growth in product complexity is burying companies in compliance paperwork and blocking innovation. Our AI removes that friction — dissolving the old tradeoff between innovation and compliance, and enabling regulated industries to innovate at the pace of modern software.

In just two years since launch, Ketryx touches the lives of 25 million patients, powers three of the world’s top five MedTech companies, and serves 25% of the Fortune 500 MedTech market. We’re backed by Lightspeed Ventures, and our founders are the former Head of AI at Amgen and the CTO of Wolfram Cloud. In September of 2025, we raised a $39M Series B.

But life sciences is just the beginning. Automotive, aerospace, energy — if it’s regulated, it’s because society decided it matters. These products move humanity, shape our future, and are safety-critical. Ketryx is building the AI platform to power safe innovation across them all.

About The Role

Ketryx is entering its next phase of growth — moving from startup speed to scale-up rigor — and we’re looking for a Fractional Chief People Officer to help build the systems and scaffolding to support that journey.

This role is focused on performance, development, structure, and scale. You’ll work closely with the CEO to build a high-integrity People infrastructure that empowers our existing team, enables future growth, and aligns with our values.

This includes partnering on:

  • Performance management systems and behaviors that actually drive growth
  • Clear leveling, titles, and compensation structures that balance equity and scale
  • The launch of “Ketryx University” in partnership with our L&D lead
  • Cross-functional alignment with the business and exec team
  • The right long-term People resourcing model — including our future team structure

We’re looking for a hands-on builder who’s excited to move fast, roll up their sleeves, and lay the tracks while the train is moving.

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement performance systems that translate Ketryx’s values into actionable behaviors and measurable outcomes
  • Define levels, compensation bands, and growth pathways across functions and geographies
  • Partner with the CEO and board on executive coaching, comp and benefits strategy, and org design
  • Build and operationalize the foundation for Ketryx University — our internal learning platform
  • Align closely with the Head of TA, while independently assessing broader People resourcing needs
  • Guide the evolution of our People team — including succession planning for this role
  • Build systems and policies that scale across offices (Boston, Vienna) and ensure HR compliance in a regulated, global context
  • Use data and clear metrics to measure impact and inform decisions — linking people programs to business outcomes
  • Bring a high-velocity, startup-savvy execution mindset to everything you do

About You

You’re not just strategic — you get things done. You’ve built systems in fast-moving environments and know what great looks like at this stage. You’re ready to help a company mature without slowing it down.

You likely have:

  • Prior experience leading People/HR functions at high-growth startups, ideally in B2B or enterprise software
  • Proven ability to build performance, leveling, comp, and development frameworks from the ground up
  • Experience partnering with founders and exec teams at the inflection point from ~80 to 200+ employees
  • Comfort navigating cross-border complexity and regulatory differences (e.g. U.S. and EU HR landscapes)
  • A coaching mindset and track record of influencing without drama — especially in founder-driven orgs
  • Strong business fluency — you can connect people systems to company strategy and outcomes
  • A bias for action, pragmatism, and iteration over perfection
  • Comfort working in person in Boston, 1–2 days/week, with the possibility of transitioning to full-time
  • Bonus: Experience in enterprise software, life sciences, or regulated industries
