Job Summary
Implements merchandising resets, plans, policies, and programs in support of store operations. Oversees tasks performed by merchandising partners and ensures stock levels are maintained. Provides support to Category Management and Retail Operations regarding space planning and related analysis and product merchandising.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Works with upper management to train and develop partners, schedule, plan, assign, and direct work.
- Oversees tasks performed by merchandising partners and participates in the stocking and proper placement of products.
- Configures store resets based on schematics provided by Category Management. Evaluates optimal placement and sell-through of products.
- Gathers and reports information to upper management regarding discontinued, slow moving, and damaged products.
- Monitors inventory report disparities in product count to upper management.
- Works with departmental managers on special projects related to Company initiatives.
- Communicates suggestions, ideas, and observations with store personnel, supervisors, and third-party vendors.
- Provides feedback and reports issues to department leaders regarding the status of store resets.
- Orders, assembles, disassembles, and repairs merchandising equipment.
- Performs administrative tasks related to vendor services.
- Drives daily to retail stores within a designated geographical area.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Intermediate knowledge of floor planning software and store reset/remodel processes.
- Basic mathematical and measuring skills.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to lead and motivate others.
- Ability to read and interpret planograms and other merchandising blueprints.
- Ability to learn new technology systems, methods and processes.
- Ability to reason, form concepts and recognize and solve problems.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret information.
- Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to frequently travel to off-site and out-of-town locations with possible overnight stays.
- Ability to use knives/box cutters.
- Ability to operate a fork lift/pallet jack.
- Ability to use precision hand tools.
- Required to drive in accordance with the BGC Driver policy.
- Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropiate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible.
- Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- High school Diploma or GED and two or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education required.
- Minimum of 21 years of age required.
