Job Overview
Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a Pediatric Registered Nurse in our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
This position is full-time days, 36 hours/week.
Responsibilities
A PICU Staff RN provides emergency intensive care to critically ill pediatric burn patients. In this position, you will have the unique opportunity to help our patients through their journey from the moment the child is wheeled through the door through the time the child leaves to go home. Many of our patients return for follow up care as they grow. This will give you an opportunity as a nurse to see your great work shine through the child as they grow older.
Inpatient Pediatric ICU/Acute Care Staff RN will have the opportunity to expand their practice through exposure to all of our lines of service, including Burns, Orthopaedics, and Cleft Lip and Palate. In this position, you’ll continue to help our patients through their journey as they have been released from the ICU and are on their way to recovery. This involves providing Med-Surg level of nursing care, including wound care and teaching patients and families as they are learning home care.
The Inpatient Unit team works in a self-scheduled environment, 3-12 hours, full-time, day shift positions available, with rotating weekends.
Qualifications
Requirements: BSN with a minimum of 3 years pediatric, Acute/Critical Care experience; current CPR certification required.
