PAY RATE: USD $100,000 base salary

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: Less than 10%

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Varsity Spirit Yearbook is seeking a talented Software Developer to join our Process Improvement team. Our team is dedicated to improving production processes through development of automation and software solutions.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Maintaining and upgrading existing software systems
• Identifying areas for improvement or modification in existing programs and subsequently developing these solutions
• Researching, designing, implementing, and managing software programs
• Writing and implementing efficient code
• Determining operational practicality
• Collaborate with team members to find best practices and requirements for software          

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Administration of multiple dev, test, and production applications
• Evaluate, develop, and recommend tools and services to further automate production
• Monitor and report on availability and performance of software services
• Collaborate with application development leaders to create a cohesive service lifecycle from application design through development, production, and ongoing support.
• Participate in multiple projects and meet established deadlines. Must be able to work equally well independently and in a team environment.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree and/or 3+ years job experience
• Advanced experience with SQL, JavaScript, PowerShell, and Electron
• Strong experience using software version control systems based on Git (e.g., Bitbucket, GitHub, GitLab).
• Experience building custom tools to automate production processes.
• Self-starter with the ability to proactively identify issues and suggest corrective actions
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to problem solve high-level software and application issues

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This job operates in a professional office environment. Largely a sedentary role with some filing requiring the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary. The ability to sit or stand for long periods through meetings and while operating office equipment, PC’s, laptop, telephone will be required.
