Job Summary
Assist the supervisor in overseeing the operations of the plant so a seamless process is followed to produce a quality product.
Essential Functions
- Monitors equipment to process whey into WPI powder and Salibra
- Includes, but is not limited to pasteurizers, CIP systems, UF, RO, MF, VMF, polisher, and dryers
- Monitors receiving of all whey and retentate into Richfield facility and shipping of permeate from Richfield facility
- Monitoring assigned in processing samples
- Trouble shoots problems with equipment when needed making necessary adjustments
- Help keep work area clean
- Complies with all HACCP, GMP and safety programs
- Fills in for Team Leader as necessary
- Promotes and exhibits strong Food Safety and Quality practices
- Promotes and exhibits strong Sustainability practices
- Promotes and exhibits strong Housekeeping practices
- Must report Safety, Food Safety, and Quality, Sustainability and Housekeeping problems to direct supervisor immediately
- Actively participate in teams and on projects to improve the metrics for given area of responsibility
- Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct.
- Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)
- Perform other duties as assigned
Additional Functions
- Regular and timely attendance required
Qualifications
- Accurate in taking samples and performing required tests
- Knowledge of USDA, FDA, SQF and customer requirements for a food manufacturing plant
- Knowledge of Sustainability and EPA requirements for a manufacturing plant
- Ability to operate (or learn to operate) necessary equipment
- Excellent record required in safety, attendance, and punctuality
- Ability to stand and walk the entire shift if needed
- Ability to read and write instructions in English
- Knowledge of the proper use of all cleaning chemicals
- Must be able to work weekends, and overtime as required
