The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) Design Build team is seeking a Flying Testbed Technologist to join our team in Berkeley, MO. The selected candidate will be responsible for setting the configuration of a fleet of test bed aircraft in support of rapid development flight testing. Specific tasks will include researching, implementing, and flight-testing novel networks and architectures, adapting new networks to interface with customer equipment, configuring ground station and on-aircraft networks and antennas to support data transmission capabilities, and on-aircraft computing and mission equipment layout and installation.
BT&E is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced, Senior and Lead level Flying Testbed Technologists.
Position Responsibilities Include:
- Perform research and development (R&D) of advanced computing technologies
- Identify, evaluate and recommend emerging advanced technology
- Provide subject matter expertise for customer consultations
- Ensure successful deployment of advanced computing technology
- Contribute to the creation and review of R&D proposals
- Assist in forecasting computational needs and capabilities to address future business requirements
- Influence functional decision makers to use appropriate computational tools and processes
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 3+ years of experience with radio frequency (RF), modems, wireless, and advanced communications systems
- 3+ years of experience with aircraft modification and mission systems
- 3+ years of experience in mission systems integration
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 3 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
- FAA A&P license
- FAA IA license
- FCC technician license
- Experience with autopilot integration and modification
- Experience with military communication protocols
- Ability to fly on board test aircraft

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range for experienced level: $105,400 – $142,600
Summary pay range for senior level: $127,500 - $172,500
Summary pay range for lead level: $149,600 – $202,400
