Retail Design Consultant

As a Design Consultant you will be responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience by utilizing your interior design expertise in the curation of lighting selections for our discerning clients. You will work closely with consumers to create stunning lighting solutions which enhance the beauty and ambiance of their luxury spaces.

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with consumer clientele to understand their lighting requirements, preferences, and design goals.
• Provide expert guidance and recommendations on luxury lighting fixtures, styles, and trends to help clients make informed decisions.
• Conduct on-site visits to homes and construction job sites to assess existing lighting systems, considering the architectural and interior design elements of the space.
• Create customized lighting selection recommendations, drawings and specifications to meet clients’ needs and project requirements.
• Drive sales to the consumer by providing design and sales expertise.
• Assist clients in selecting the most suitable luxury decorative lighting fixtures which align with their aesthetic vision and budget.
• Effectively manage the residential project to ensure seamless execution, including coordination of product availability, delivery schedules and installation timelines.
• Stay up to date with the latest lighting design trends, technologies and industry best practices, and share this knowledge with clients and colleagues.
• Provide exceptional customer service throughout the sales process, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and building long-term relationships.
• Perform other assigned tasks necessary to support the showroom and team

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field (preferred)
• 2+ years of experience in space planning, creating mood board/inspiration creation and creative solutions in residential spaces
• 2+ years of retail lighting experience with a minimum of 1 year employment at VC preferred.
• Must be willing to work a weekly schedule which includes Saturdays
• Proven experience as a Design Consultant in the luxury design industry
• Expert knowledge of lighting design principles, space planning techniques, and products.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Adobe Suite of products or other Visualization software, and/or other relevant programs.
• Highly technical and excellent computer skills utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite of software with working knowledge of an ERP system, preferably D365.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, and colleagues through written, oral, and graphic methods.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a creative and innovative approach to lighting challenges.
• Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in lighting plans and specifications.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to strict deadlines.
• A passion for interior design, luxury lighting, and aesthetics, with a keen eye for detail and trends.
• Strong customer service skills and a commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Compensation Range: $65,000
