Business Manager – Humanities Shared Services College of Arts and Sciences
Full-time, Exempt, Salary Range $76,145 - $81,000 DOE&Q
Description: The College of Arts and Sciences seeks a Business Manager for Humanities Shared Services to work closely with Arts and Sciences Financial Administration and the department heads of Classics, Religious Studies, and Philosophy as well as the Director of the Tennessee Humanities Center to coordinate the control and administration of the financial, HR, and administrative operations of these departments. This position carries full authority for specific fiscal and human resource related matters of these departments. This position will have supervisory responsibility for four staff positions within the Humanities Shared Services unit.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for oversight of the day-to-day financial operations of the above units
• Ensures policy compliance of financial transactions
• Supervises, reviews and approves the work of four staff members
• Responsible for the preparation of the annual budgets for departments, as well as for oversight and management of the departmental budgets throughout the fiscal year
• Provide budget projections and data analysis to department stakeholders for use in strategic planning and allocation of resources
• Reviews/approves financial and personnel transactions for faculty, staff and students within the department
• Reviews and approves biweekly and monthly time of departmental staff
• Serve as primary resource for matters related to the University financial policies and procedures and establish practices to ensure compliance
• Represents the departments in meetings of college business managers, budget hearings, etc.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Required
· Bachelor’s Degree plus 3 years of experience in finance and administrative management that includes supervisory responsibilities OR
· Associate’s Degree plus 7 years of experience in finance and administrative management that includes supervisory responsibilities OR
· 11 years of experience in finance and administrative management that includes supervisory responsibilities
Preferred
• Three to five years of higher education experience, preferably in an academic department
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
Required
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles
• Financial, accounting and budgetary skills
• Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel)
• Demonstrated creative problem-solving ability<
