The Director of New Product Introduction and Life Cycle Management will lead a team of program managers and product specialists to get the global service and support teams ready for new product launches and manage the service and support strategy throughout the product life cycle.

This position is part of the Global Strategic Solutions team and will be a remote role. At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

•          Design and execute comprehensive customer insights program to understand the service and support needs in different regions and different customer segments

•          Define what does good serviceability look like for new products, including system, software and connectivity. Work with R&D to incorporate design for serviceability into product definition and early stage of product development by leveraging voice of customers, competitive intelligence and feedback from internal stakeholders

•          Lead a team of program managers and product specialists to get the technical phone support, service coordination, field service and repair center associates in the regions ready to support new Cepheid products

•          Partner with R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality and Regulatory, Product Management, Sales and Marketing and other cross functional teams to ensure the successful launch of new products

•          Lead the global service product management function, design global service product segmentation and portfolio strategy, drive competitive analysis and develop playbook and best practices to market and sell service products

•          Partner with regional service leaders to develop value-based service pricing strategy, install standard work of annual price increase

•          Design, develop and launch new service product offerings to meet changing customer needs and grow service business

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field with 14+ years related work experience OR
• Master’s degree in field with 10+ years of related work experience
• 4+ years managing people

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

• Ability to travel – 10-25% with some overnight

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other relevant majors with technical aptitude to comprehend scientific and technical content
• Experience in new product development or service and support in medical device, clinical laboratory or life science industries
• Experience in commercializing service offerings or managing service P&L
