Relesys is on a strong and ambitious growth journey as a leading provider of employee engagement and performance platforms. As we expand our international footprint and continue to scale our SaaS offering, ensuring robust and transparent data protection is more critical than ever.
To support this, we are now looking for a Data Protection Manager to take the lead on further maturing our approach to GDPR and data privacy compliance. This is a specialist role, central to our compliance strategy and execution, and offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on how we structure, document, and enforce our privacy and compliance efforts across the company.
You will lead our internal compliance team — currently chaired by the CTO — which brings together representatives from IT, Legal, Operations, and the Business. This is not a staff management role, but a leadership role focused on ensuring alignment, ownership, and progress on key compliance initiatives across the organization.
At Relesys, we already have an established compliance setup, including a dedicated compliance management tool and annual external audits, which help us continuously improve and strengthen trust with our customers. Your mission will be to further develop and implement our internal controls, processes, and documentation — and to help us stay ahead as regulations and expectations evolve.
Your key responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the internal compliance team, focusing on alignment and execution of privacy and data protection initiatives.
- Take ownership of our privacy framework, ensuring compliance with GDPR and other applicable data protection laws.
- Drive the maturity of internal processes through structured internal controls, assessments, and continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain and develop policies, procedures, and documentation such as RoPA, DPIAs, data retention practices, and internal guidelines.
- Advise internal teams on privacy-by-design and support integration of privacy into product development and operational workflows.
- Manage and document data subject access requests (DSARs) in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct internal awareness training and contribute to a culture of accountability and compliance.
- Review and manage data processing agreements and support third-party risk assessments.
- Monitor legal developments and adjust internal policies and practices accordingly.
Who are you?
- 2–5 years of experience working with data protection, privacy compliance, or information security — ideally in a digital or SaaS environment.
- Solid knowledge of GDPR and the ability to apply it in practice.
- Structured, proactive, and comfortable taking the lead in cross-functional settings without formal staff responsibility.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across legal, technical, and operational functions.
- Fluent in both Danish and English (written and spoken).
- Relevant certifications (such as CIPP/E or CIPM) are a plus.
- Based in or near Odense and available to work primarily on-site.
