Job Description

As a Security Officer – Armed Government Site - Morning Shift in Reno, NV, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more .

As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a secure environment within a government location. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols, remaining highly visible to help deter unwanted activity, and responding promptly to incidents as they arise. You will interact with visitors and staff, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication while upholding the highest standards of professionalism. Pay Rate: $22.00 / Hour

What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor for suspicious activity and report any security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential threats and provide reassurance to employees and visitors.
  • Follow all site-specific protocols for access control, visitor management, and emergency response.
  • Work collaboratively with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
  • Complete detailed and accurate reports on all incidents, observations, and activities during the shift.
  • Remain alert and prepared to respond to any security-related situation that may arise at the government location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
