Job Description:

This role will directly support the Advanced Programs Operating Unit at Launch Vehicles. Weapons Systems Consultant will advise development, and execution team for various weapons systems as a member of the Office of the Chief Engineer for Strike Weapons Programs. This role will support development of requirements, and technical discussions as needed to compile the most effective offering for the customer. Partner with IPT leads on an as needed bases to assist in defining mission capabilities advising on innovative engineering solutions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Participation in Chief Engineer Council as requested by the Chief Engineer
  • Support productive working relationships with the customer and internal/external partners
  • Provide documentation and advise as requested for the Weapon System

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 16 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in STEM with 14 years of related engineering experience, or a PhD in STEM with 12 years related engineering experience
  • Active US DoD Secret Security clearance
  • Extensive experience in weapon system development, production, and fielding
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • US citizenship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active US DOD Top Secret security clearance, and access to the portfolio of special access programs affiliated with this program
  • Greater than 25 years in weapon system development, production, and fielding

Salary Range: $1.00 - $1.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
