Seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Project Manager to lead and oversee the planning, implementation, and delivery of the GXO data lake initiative. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing the end-to-end execution of the strategic data lake initiative, with a specific focus on aligning project outcomes with product goals to meet organizational objectives. The Senior Project Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors to achieve project milestones and deliver a robust and scalable data lake solution.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute a comprehensive project plan for the data lake, ensuring alignment with overarching product goals

Clearly define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders, emphasizing product-driven outcomes

Negotiate with business stakeholders to find win-win solutions to their requirements keeping in mind the cost and resource constraints

Ensure standards are maintained via a well-defined governance model, raising any issues to management and/or stakeholders as required

Infuse agile methodologies into project management practices, promoting adaptability and responsiveness. Coordinate sprints and iterations focusing on delivering incremental value to the evolving product.

Manage the successful delivery of projects and deliver to the agreed scope, quality, time, budget, and customer expectations

Generate and manage the project plan (milestones), resource plan (people), budget, and risk register (identify, analyse and quantify) and interlock with third party suppliers as required

Manage project budget during the full lifecycle of a project

Implement cost-effective strategies and regularly update stakeholders on financial aspects.

Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans to address challenges proactively.

Generate Change Requests as required and obtain appropriate approvals, in line with project governance standards and ensure all project meetings are documented to reduce miscommunication risk and ensure traceability of decisions

Manage third party suppliers, both internal and external, in order to secure the delivery targets.

Manage the contractual elements of third party supplier engagements, including the agreement of the initial contract and ensuring suppliers are held accountable for contractual obligations

Represent the project externally and internally by communicating and reporting on project status to all stakeholders. Produce regular and accurate progress reports and present the project status at relevant review meetings

Translate technical information to non-technical audiences ensuring there is full understanding of the subject matter in question from all levels

Obtain documented customer acceptance of the project deliverables
