Job Overview 

The Littleton Group is experiencing rapid growth and is looking for an experienced Field Adjuster to join our team. As a Field Adjuster, your role is integral to the insurance industry, where you will be responsible for investigating and evaluating insurance claims on-site. Conducting thorough inspections, analyzing policy coverage, and collaborating with experts, you'll determine the extent of damages and liability. Your keen attention to detail, excellent communication, and negotiation skills will enable you to provide fair and accurate claim settlements while ensuring compliance with industry regulations. With a focus on customer service and fraud detection, you'll play a crucial role in helping policyholders navigate the claims process and achieve a sense of security during challenging times.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Travel will be required for claim or scene investigations as necessary 
  • Determine extent of insurance coverage and liability on each filed claim
  • Investigate claims, including interviewing claimants, clients, and witnesses
  • Obtain necessary records, including but not limited to, hospital records, police reports, physician records, etc.
  • NMVTIS and CMS/Section 111 reporting
  • Utilize appropriate preferred vendors
  • Presents thorough and accurate reports to clients and excess carriers on claims investigations/situations
  • Negotiate settlements for resolutions with claimants and their attorneys
  • Maintain control of litigation activities and costs per account requirements
  • Effectively address and maintain incoming Docuclass documents in a consistent and timely manner
  • Attend meetings, mediations, conferences, workshops, or training sessions
  • Review written material to maintain current knowledge on principles, practices, and new development in assigned work areas
  • Maintain and meet state specific licensing requirements
  • Respond to client questions and comments in a courteous and timely manner
  • Responsible for catastrophic losses, complex litigation, and other sensitive issues
  • Prepare detailed written estimates on the scope of damages in both Replacement cost and Actual Cash Values, obtaining an agreed scope of work and cost of repair with contractors and/or clients 
  • Conduct onsite building inspections as needed
  • Coordinate with insured and construction companies to ensure timely work progress
  • Provide regular work progress reports to clients and carriers
  • Prepare auto and/or property loss spreadsheets
  • Utilize standard or customized software applications appropriate to assigned tasks

Experience and Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or another related field or equivalent work experience
  • Hold an active Texas Adjuster License
  • Maintain CEU credits for Adjuster License
  • Proficiency in Excel and in t
