About the role
The QUALPS (Quality & Automated Learning Paltform and Systems) team located in Seattle is looking for a SDE to deliver strategic goals for Alexa Shopping. This is an opportunity to join our mission to build tech solutions that empower to delight Alexa shopping customers. You will be responsible for building new system capabilities grounds up for strategic business initiatives. We are building systems which can scale across multiple marketplaces and are on the cutting edge technologies like machine learning and artificial intelligence driving large scale simplification etc.
You will improve CX of Alexa Shopping, using machine learning models and build intelligence on high quality, diverse, scaled generation of utterances as an input.In order to proactively reduce defect rates, identify root cause and analyze them, take business decisions, test utterances, we need to be able to generate synthetic utterances that can mirror the distribution and accuracy of live utterances. You will build end to end infrastructure to help ML practitioners by developing Machine Learning (ML) model artifacts in production with minimal human interventions through automation. Synthetic data generation for offline models and building platform for hosting offline/online models and generate workflows to optimize Alexa Shopping customer experiences and build platform to deploy ML models at scale.

We are looking for a SDEs to design and build our tech stack as a coherent architecture and deliver capabilities across marketplaces. We operate in a high performance co-located agile ecosystem where SDEs, Product Managers, Data scientists and Principals frequently connect with end customers of our products. Our SDEs stay connected with customers and product teams. This allows our engineers to significantly influence product roadmap, contribute to PR/FAQs and create disproportionate impact through the tech they deliver. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
