Job Description
Summary
Leads, multiple projects for urban waterfront and coastal structures, including marinas, marine terminals, urban waterfront developments and cruise ship facilities; wetland restoration, dredging, shore protection structures, and flood walls.
Essential functions

- Leads and designs multiple construction projects by studying project concept, architectural drawings, and models
- Leads and prepares multiple engineering design by collecting and studying reports, maps, drawings, aerial photographs, and tests on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and related topographical and geologic data
- Leads the analysis of multiple project costs by calculating labor, material, and related costs
- Creates multiple feasibility studies by analyzing engineering design, conducting environmental impact studies, and assembling data
- Leads the development of multiple construction specifications, plans, and schedules to produce engineering documents
- Researches and assists in complying with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; and advising management on needed actions
- Successfully support ongoing Coastal / Water practice through contacts and business development efforts working with EPA, Army Corps of Engineers, NOAA, Local Environmental agencies, as well as private sector clients
- Implements scientific and regulatory tasks for projects to ensure compliance with applicable environmental laws, regulations, and policies, including NEPA, Endangered Species Act, and Clean Water Act

Required education and experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Coastal Engineering
- 20+ years of experience as a coastal engineer
- Current PE License
Preferred education and experience
Master in related field

Physical demands
Ability to use standard office equipment. Sits for a prolonged period.
Travel required
Some travel based on customer needs.
